Staff Operating Procedure

  • At check in, dinner service will be explained to guest.

  • Should dinner be required, it will be ordered at check-in and then each morning before leaving RWH for work, should they be staying more than one night.  This will be flexible to ensure workability. 

  • Full payment will be taken at reception when placing the order £6.00 for any main meal.

  • We will have a bar fridge behind reception, for sale to guests and vending for soft drinks.

  • Guests will be advised to purchase a beverage before going up stairs to the restaurant. Thereafter the restaurant host will serve as required.

  • Coffee/Tea will be available at no additional cost should it be requested during dinner service.

  • A receipt with room number, time dinner is booked for and dinner item will be given to the guest.

  • The chef will be given a copy of each order to prepare in advance and cook off on arrival.

  • Guest is to produce this receipt to the host when arriving in the restaurant.

  • We will have a sanitising table and signage ‘Please wait to be seated by our host’.

  • Receipt given to the kitchen, and guest shown to a table.

  • Maximum of three guests per table, all tables socially distanced.

  • Dinner service will be from 18:00-20:30.

  • Staff will sanitise tables and touch points between guests.

STFC RAL Staff Restaurant – Staff Guide

  • All staff should enter through the north and south entrances only.

  • Please join the queue to the servery door following the safe distancing marks on the floor. There will be menus and pictures of the food available that day to assist your choices prior to entering the servery area.  Menus will also be available on STFC chat and on the catering website.

  • During busy periods a member of staff will invite you into the servery area in turn.

  • Please adhere to social distancing at all times.

  • Payment will only be accepted via contactless or card, no cash will be taken.

  • R22 Rotunda seating area is now open (see below for more information)

  • The R22 toilets are closed.

  • An enhanced cleaning and sanitising regime is being implemented throughout the building.

  • Please use the hand sanitiser available prior to entering the servery.

  • Avoid touching surfaces if not necessary.

  • Only handle product you wish to purchase.

  • Please respect the directional signage, no entry signs and safe distancing at all times.

  • The servery has two, one way routes as below.

 

Route 1 – to the right (Cold offer)

  • Grab and go Sandwiches

  • Grab and go Boxed salads

  • Pre-order collection

  • Hot beverages

  • A till has been positioned by the coffee machine for payment

  • Exit via the side door to the car park

 

Route 2 – to the left (Hot offer)

  • Hot meal counters

  • Hot pudding

  • Soup

  • Jacket potatoes and fillings

  • Your meal will be served, placed on the counter with your individual disposable cutlery, paper napkin, salt, pepper and sauce sachet of your choice. A till will be available at the end of this route. Exit will be through the Rotunda south side door to the car park.

STFC RAL Staff Restaurant Seating Area – Staff Guide

Currently face masks are not mandatory in the servery areas of the restaurants.  We will update the guidance if this changes.

 

  • You are only able to access the seating area through the servery double doors, past the tills.

  • On entry to the seating area you have the option to exit immediately (take away or outside seating) using the exit door to the right, or to go left where a member of staff will be on hand to guide you through the one way system.

  • A one-way system operates around the seating area. Please follow the instructions issued by the Baxterstorey restaurant host.

  • Floor markings have been laid out, please walk on the floor markings when travelling to your table; they are shown as green lines on the following plan.

  • Please maintain social distancing at all times.

  • Please try to keep the free flow of movement through the dining room at all times.

  • Furniture has been spaced at 2m and labelled as available for use – please do not move any tables or chairs from the allocated location

  • Once you have eaten, please collect up all of your rubbish and dispose of it in the bins, which are located on the exit route.

  • Once you have vacated your space a member of the Baxterstorey team will come and sanitise your area ready for the next customer.

  • As we have reduced capacity (83 seats), during busy periods we would be grateful if you could vacate your table as soon as you have finished your meal to ensure other customers can be seated swiftly.

  • The Baxterstorey team is on hand to remind customers of the RAL site guidelines, please follow their instructions to support a safe dining environment.
